1. Is your child at least 18 months old?
2. Is your child in a stable and mostly predictable routine (no big changes coming up, like a new baby in the home, change in day care, the family moving, etc.)?
3. Does your child stay dry for at least 2 hours at a time during the day?
4. Is your child dry after naps?
5. Does your child have regular bowel movements at about the same time each day?
6. Does your child follow simple instructions?
7. Is your child usually cooperative and not in a negative phase where he/she says 'no' to everything?
8. Is your child able to say (or sign) simple, one-word expressions, like 'poop' and 'potty'?
9. Is your child uncomfortable in dirty diapers?
10. Does your child ask to use the toilet?
11. Can your child sit quietly for 4 or 5 minutes at a time?
12. Does your child tell you when he/she is about to urinate or have a bowel movement?
13. Can you tell by your child's facial expressions or posture that he/she is about to urinate or have a bowel movement?
14. Can your child walk to the bathroom?
15. Can your child take off his/her diaper and undress him/herself?
16. Does your child ask to wear underpants instead of diapers?
17. Is your child happy when he/she pleases you?
18. Does your child try to imitate using the toilet like others in the family?
